Private Bali Chef Pricing Models

Most private chef services in Bali use one of two pricing models. Knowing which one applies to your quote prevents surprises.

  1. An all-inclusive per-person rate: Your payment covers the ingredients and the chef’s fee. It is the most common format.
  1. A split model: The chef bills a flat fee. You pay separately for the ingredients. This model gives you more visibility into what you are paying for.

Standard Private Bali Chef Service Inclusions

  • Sourcing of ingredients from local markets or premium suppliers

What Determines the Price of a Private Chef in Bali?

  1. Group size

The more guests you have, the lower the cost per head.

  1. Dietary requirements

Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free menus are standard capabilities at the mid-range level due to Bali’s wellness tourism market. Severe allergen protocols and certified organic sourcing can drive up the price.

  1. Menu complexity

A two-course set menu of local ingredients is less expensive than a five-course custom dinner of imported meat. Australian Wagyu, French butter and Japanese seafood are sourced from premium Bali suppliers. Each additional course, speciality technique or imported ingredient adds to the final price.

  1. Duration and number of meals

A single dinner is priced differently from a full-day engagement covering breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

  1. Villa location and Bali traffic

Canggu, Seminyak, and Nusa Dua are straightforward to service. Ubud, Amed, and the outer islands like Nusa Lembongan and the Gilis involve longer travel and additional logistics.

A trip from Seminyak to Uluwatu or Ubud can take two hours each way in Bali traffic. Expect a Staff Transport and Logistics Fee to apply, either as a line item or built into the overall quote.

  1. Kitchen infrastructure at your villa

Many Bali villas lack ovens, reliable gas pressure, or adequate prep space. Complex menus may require the chef to bring additional equipment, like portable burner rings or mobile ovens.

  1. Add-on services

There are extra costs for bartender hire, cocktail service, table styling, custom desserts and extra courses

Key Guidelines Before Hiring a Private Chef in Bali

  • Have the following details ready:
  • Guest count
  • Dates
  • Preferred service type (one dinner, full day, multi-day)
  • Dietary requirements
  • Villa location
  • Add-ons
  • Confirm the chef’s pricing model. A low per-person rate that excludes ingredients is not always cheaper.
  • Find out whether the quoted price includes Bali’s standard Government Tax and Service Charge of 21%. Many providers quote a base price and add tax on top.
  • Check if the quote includes tableware, glassware and rental tableware.
